General information:
This database contains three files:
a) FILE 1 (“ECG_very_short_term_recordings.xlsx”) very short-term recordings
Seventy subjects (median age: 23 (21-25) years; 31 men, 39 women) were included in the analysis of the impact of signal length (5 min, 3 min) on HRV metrics (derived from ECG). All volunteers were measured at the Neuroengineering Laboratory at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (WUST) between October 2014 and June 2015; Bioethical Committee agreement: KB–170/2014 (database 1) and between October 2023 and January 2024; Bioethical Committee agreement: KB–179/2023/N (database 2)
b) FILE 2 (“nABP_very_short_term_recordings.xlsx”) very short-term recordings
Eighty-eight subjects (median age: 22 (21-25) years; 36 men, 52 women) were included in the analysis of the impact of signal length (5 min, 3 min) on PRV metrics (derived from non-invasive ABP). All volunteers were measured at the Neuroengineering Laboratory at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (WUST) between October 2014 and June 2015; Bioethical Committee agreement: KB–170/2014 (database 1) and between October 2023 and January 2024; Bioethical Committee agreement: KB–179/2023/N (database 2)
c) FILE 3 (“short_term_recordings.xlsx”) short-term recordings
Sixteen subjects (median age: 21 (19-24) years; 9 men, 7 women) were included in the analysis of the impact of window length (15 min, 5 min, and 3 min) on HRV and PRV metrics derived from 15 minutes of recordings. All volunteers were measured at the Neuroengineering Laboratory at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (WUST) between October 2023 and January 2024; Bioethical Committee agreement: KB–179/2023/N

Detailed description of files:
FILE 1
Metrics are derived from the electrocardiogram (ECG) and labelled as "ECG" in the ‘Signal’ column.
Two signal lengths were used (column: ‘length’): 3 minutes and 5 minutes. Metrics derived from 5-minute signals appear as the second set and include “_2” in the column name.
The database is marked as “database 1” and “database 2” (see details above).
Columns include:
Participant: anonymized participant label
Demographics: age, sex
Device: device used for ECG recordings
Autonomic Nervous System Metrics: Standard time-domain, frequency-domain, and nonlinear metrics, including:
Time-Domain Metrics:
meanNN – Mean interval between normal R-peaks
SDNN – Standard deviation of R-R intervals
RMSSD – Square root of the mean squared successive differences between adjacent R-R intervals
pNN20, pNN50 – Proportion of R-R intervals greater than 20 ms or 50 ms, respectively
Frequency-Domain Metrics:
LFn, HFn – Normalized power spectral density in the low-frequency (LF, 0.04–0.15 Hz) and high-frequency (HF, 0.15–0.40 Hz) ranges, obtained by dividing the respective power spectra by total power (TP, 0.04–0.40 Hz)
LF/HF – Low-to-high frequency ratio
Nonlinear Metrics:
SD1 – Poincaré plot standard deviation perpendicular to the line of identity
SD2 – Poincaré plot standard deviation along the line of identity
MSEn – Multiscale entropy
ApEn – Approximate entropy
SampEn – Sample entropy
FuzzyEn – Fuzzy entropy
FILE 2
Metrics are derived from non-invasive arterial blood pressure (nABP) and labelled as "nABP" in the ‘Signal’ column.
Device: Device used for nABP recordings
Autonomic Nervous System Metrics: (same metrics as in FILE 1)
FILE 3
Signals derived from non-invasive arterial blood pressure (nABP) are presented first and labelled as "nABP" in the ‘Signal’ column.
Signals derived from the electrocardiogram (ECG) are presented second and labelled as "ECG" in the ‘Signal’ column. Metrics for ECG signals include “_2” in the column name.
Columns include:
Participant: Anonymized participant label
Demographics: Age, sex
Device: Device used for nABP and ECG recordings
Window Size: Size of the calculation window
Autonomic Nervous System Metrics: (same metrics as in FILE 1 and FILE 2)
