Data underlying the conference proceeding: Open Data Portals Engagement: A Cross-Country Analysis of Game Elements

Our research objective is to investigate the implementation of game elements designed to engage citizens in existing open data portals. We systematically analysed 31 open data portals representing five regions selected through stratified sampling from DataPortals.org between January and February 2025. We accessed each portal via a standard web browser (Microsoft Edge) and prioritised replicability by mimicking the experience of casual users without creating accounts. The dataset contains an Excel file of checklists indicating whether each game element, such as points, badges, progress, etc., is implemented across portals.

本研究旨在探究适配现有开放数据门户（open data portals）、用以吸引市民参与的游戏化元素（game elements）的落地实施情况。本研究于2025年1月至2月间，通过分层抽样从DataPortals.org平台选取覆盖五大区域的31个开放数据门户开展系统性分析。研究人员通过标准网页浏览器（Microsoft Edge）访问各门户，并以模拟普通用户无需注册的使用体验为优先考量，以保障研究的可复现性。本数据集包含一份清单式Excel文件，用以记录各门户是否落地了积分、徽章、进度等各类游戏化元素。
