`bezir/gsm8k-tr` is the Turkish translated version of GSM8K (Grade School Math 8K), a dataset of 8.5K high-quality, linguistically diverse grade school math word problems. This dataset is designed to support the task of question answering on basic mathematical problems that require multi-step reasoning. The problems have been localized into Turkish, involving updates to names, metrics, or scenarios. Each problem requires between 2 and 8 steps to solve, primarily involving a sequence of elementary calculations using basic arithmetic operations (+ − ×÷) to reach the final answer. Solutions are provided in natural language, rather than pure mathematical expressions. The creation of the dataset involved first translating and localizing the problems into Turkish using human annotation, `gemini-1.5-flash`, and `gemini-1.5-pro`, and then solving the problems using the same approach.
