Spearman’s correlation coefficients between hemoglobin subfractions and other metabolic related parameters.

Metabolic parameters (GGT, ALT, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C and UA), showed weak associations with hemoglobin subfractions in general, while glucose (GLU), insulin (INS) and C-peptide (C-PEP) showed moderate associations with LA1C, A1C and A0 hemoglobin subfractions. Hence, they were used in applying the LAVE procedure to exclude individuals with abnormal glucose metabolism.
