The effects of Colostrum Bovinum supplementation on Human Body Fat content and/or Blood Lipid Profile: A Systematic Review of Clinical Trials

The collection contains the results of a bibliographic query of original scientific articles on the effect of Colostrum bovinum dietary supplementation on the content of adipose tissue in the human body and/or the blood lipid profile, verified in clinical studies.The obtained records were used to develop a systematic review using the PRISMA program. Electronic searches were conducted in science libraries, Cochrane, Ebsco, Embase, PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science. Two queries were conducted for all databases. The first identified five primary steps: (1) the keywords Colostrum AND (Lipoprotein* OR lipid OR Triglyceride* OR Triacylglycerol* OR Cholesterol OR HDL OR LDL OR apolipoprotein* OR "lipid profile" AND trial); (2) year (2001–2025); (3) publication type (article); (4) language (English); (5) source type (journal). The second query (1) the keywords Colostrum AND (“body fat” or “body composition” or “tissue fat or adipose fat”) AND trial (2) year (2001–2025); (3) publication type (article); (4) language (English); (5) source type (journal).Bibliographic query was made on September 22 to December 10, 2025.
