A Hitachi TM3000 scanning electron microscope (SEM) was utilized to evaluate the quality of the contact zone between the starch gel the gypsum crystal structure. Specimens, measuring approximately 200 mm2 in area and up to 3 mm in thickness, were prepared for analysis. To enhance the electrical conductivity of the tested surfaces, the samples were coated with metal alloys in a vacuum chamber. Images were captured at magnifications of 2000×.
