Digital Archive from a Watching Brief and Excavation at Grafton Road, Brigstock, Northamptonshire, February to October 2023

This collection consists of images, vector graphics, spreadsheets and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation, excavation and watching brief by Groundworks Archaeology. Work occurred on land to the rear of 14 Grafton Road, Brigstock, Northamptonshire, in February to October 2023. The earlier evaluation, in October 2022, identified Iron Age and Early-medieval activity within the site which necessitated a further phase of archaeological mitigation. The investigation established that the Iron Age ditch identified in the evaluation was in use over a long period of time spanning the Early Iron Age right through into potentially the early Romano-British period. A series of Early-medieval gullies with an associated alignment of postholes was interpreted as enclosures likely associated with animal husbandry.
