SARDI Molecular surveillance for invasive marine species

SARDI carried out a series of projects to assess and refine a molecular surveillance method for priority invasive marine species using plankton tows and targeted (species-specific) qPCR testing. Molecular surveillance using the method developed was then carried out at several ports around Australia. Sampling and analysis using the developed method was also applied to support assessment of new qPCR assays for invasive marine species of concern.
