We empirically collect data from citizens to explore their intentions to download the digital tracing system during the COVID-19 pandemic and their self-reported defensive behavior for protecting data privacy. This study aims to investigate how perceived trust over the app usage and peer behavior affect users' adoption of an app for self-health monitoring purposes.
