The freshwater meromictic Lake Svetloe is located in the Arkhangelsk region of the Russian Federation. Lake Svetloe has a maximum depth of about 39 m, and the chemocline zone is located at a depth of 20 to 24 m. We have sequenced the metagenome of sediments of the meromictic Lake Svetloe using Illumina and Oxford Nanopore techniques.
