Gender Equality, Peace and Security in Nepal and Myanmar (WOMENsPEACE), 2016
收藏资源简介:
This project examined the gender dimension in the process of disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of guerrillas in Nepal, and in the gender dimension of the peace process in Myanmar. In addition, the project focused on the consequences of these processes for equality between women and men in the aftermath of conflict, the social inclusion of women and men, and on women's rights. There have been many theoretical studies of the gender dimension in demobilization and reintegration processes, and of the gender dimension in peace processes, but so far there are few case studies. This project is important - not only because it provides new case studies - but because these studies are taken from two different types of conflicts, the main ideological conflict in Nepal and ethnic conflicts in Myanmar. The project was a collaboration between PRIO and the partner institutions Nepal Center for Contemporary Research (NCCR) and Ar Yone Oo (AYO) in Myanmar.
