Knockout of Pdk4 in smooth muscle cells dramatically decreased inflammation, and increased gene expressions in TGFb signaling and glycolysis in the aorta. Overall design: Pdk4 was knocked out at age of 4-6 wk, followed high fat diet feeding for 4 months. Fresh whole aorta were digested for scRNAseq.
