The EM50 was employed to monitor the variations in soil moisture and temperature at 0–100 cm depth in farmland during the cotton growth period. The irrigation quota was set at the local average level, with a value of 270 m³/mu. This dataset strictly follows the experimental plan formulated by the research project and the observation specifications for soil-water-atmosphere-plant observations in terrestrial ecosystems compiled by the Chinese Ecosystem Research Network (CERN).
