We investigated the transcriptomic landscape of human CD8 tissue-resident T cells (Trm) derived from the ileum to study the differences in compartment (epithelium and lamina propria), CD103+ and CD103- Trm and inflammation-induced changes (active Crohn's disease vs healthy controls). Overall design: Examination of the transcriptomic CD8 tissue-resident profile (both CD69+CD103+ and CD69+CD103-) in the epithelium and lamina propria of the terminal ileum in both Crohn's disease patients and healthy controls.
