HOT-215 to HOT-307 LISST Profiles
收藏资源简介:
These Simons Collaboration on Ocean Processes and Ecology (SCOPE) data products were produced by the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa with support from the Simons Foundation. This dataset was collected on various HOT cruises aboard various research vessels to Station ALOHA north of Oahu, Hawaii. All LISST data were collected with a LISST-100X Type-B instrument operated in profiling mode. The angular range (median of bin) of the LISST Type-B is 0.106-17.96 degrees, and the size classes sensed are 1.44 - 231 microns (median of each size bin), albeit only particles less than 100 µm are considered here. All data have been corrected for background scattering of a clean filtered water calibration. The summed volume concentration of particles (in µL/L), the standard LISST output, is presented for 3 size ranges: 1.25-2 µm, 2-20 µm, and 20-100 µm. Particle volume concentration is then converted to particle concentration (#/L) by assuming spherical particles for particles with a diameter between 1.25 and 100 µm. Larger size classes are excluded due to low detection limits. Note that data have not been processed to remove outliers. The data have been binned to depth at 2m increments, and the latitude/longitude is generalized to Station ALOHA and may not match the ship's position exactly, even though all profiles were conducted inside the ALOHA circle (6 nm radius around the nominal position of 22.75, -158). The timestamp is in UTC.
