This set of questions was used during fieldwork conducted in December 2022 in the Garam Chashma Valley. The research focuses on the traditional process of making Chitrali Shu, a handwoven woollen fabric central to the region’s cultural identity and heritage. These questions served as guiding prompts for interviews and observational sessions related to wool processing. The resulting data offers valuable insights into the environmental conditions, seasonal rhythms, tool usage, and the transmission of knowledge across generations—all of which are integral to the continuity of Shu making in the region.
