Replication Data for: Database of Political Capital Characteristics of the Selected Case Study Counties Designated the Most Renewable in Each of the Eight Department of Commerce Economic Regions

Political capital refers to the ability to influence and enforce rules, regulations, and standards. It reflects access to individuals and groups with the power to influence decisions and in civic discourse participation. To that end, this dataset encapsulates information on elected and appointed government officials to include U.S. Congressional representatives; state governors and legislators representing the case study communities; county level elected and appointed officials; and the largest city in the county’s legislative body. Equally, it assesses voting statistics at the county, case study cohort and national levels in the 2024 General Election. Finally, it summarizes county level political organizations and provides a demographic assessment of all of the above.
