Mouse bacterial microbiome pre- and post- C. albicans infection

The goal of this project was to investigate persistence mechanisms of Candida albicans in the intestinal tract using an antibiotic-free mouse model of intestinal colonization. This sequencing project allowed us to determine if colonization with C. albicans affects the composition of the bacterial microbiome upon colonization with C. albicans. Overall, this project improves our understanding of C. albicans interactions with the host and microflora in the intestine during commensal colonization.
