China Daily River Discharge Records (CDR²) dataset

The China Daily River Discharge Records (CDR²) dataset provides satellite-extended daily river discharge records across China from 1990 to 2024. The dataset integrates approximately 2.33 million daily in situ discharge observations from 1,196 gauges, river width time series derived from multi-source optical imagery, and gauge-specific at-a-station hydraulic geometry relationships to reconstruct and extend discharge records for 310 gauges across China. CDR² represents the most comprehensive gauge-constrained satellite-derived daily river discharge dataset currently available for China, and it significantly outperforms existing global satellite-derived products in both accuracy and gauge density.
