Dataset from Reese et al.: "The role of the shoal - salt mixing mechanisms in a partially mixed tidal estuary with channel-shoal geometry" - PART 2
收藏资源简介:
Model data from the numerical setup of the tidal Elbe presented in Reese et al. (2026): "The role of the shoal - salt mixing mechanisms in a partially mixed tidal estuary with channel-shoal geometry" [1] PART 2 The numerical model uses adaptive vertical coordinates, with the number of each vertical grid layer given in the output coordinate "level". level=1 corresponds to the bottommost layer, level=40 is the surface layer. Explanation of the data sets: 20240417_Basic__allvars.*.reduced_precision.nc4: 3D-resolved variables used for basic analyses and vertical salinity variance decomposition; all in Euclidean space; spatially covering the estuarine section of the Elbe setup from 2024-04-17 15:00:00 to 2024-04-18 05:00:00 (tidal cycle of strongest mixing) Grid metrics buoyancy frequency squared (NN, 1/s2) salt flux in local x- (Sfluxu) and y-direction (Sfluxy, g/kg*m3/s) local physical (phymix_Sv) and numerical (nummix_Sv) vertical salt mixing, integrated over the vertical height of each grid cell (m*(g/kg)^2/s) and salinity (salt, g/kg) vertically resolved volume transport in local x- (uu) and y-direction (vv, m2/s) vertically resolved, local velocity in global x- (velx3d) and y-direction (vely3d, m/s) vertical velocity (w, m/s) 5 min temporal resolution; averaged over each 5 min block Due to the large file size... ...the original float precision in this dataset was reduced to single-point accuracy. The analyses presented in [1] use the original, non-reduced dataset. In case the original version is needed, please contact the authors. ...the dateset was split into subsets covering one hour each.
