Social Acceptance of a Digital Disaster Risk Reduction Intervention in Malaysia: An Integrated UTAUT2–Risk Communication Model in a Multi-Hazard Urban Community
This dataset contains survey responses from 400 residents of a high-risk urban community in Penang, Malaysia, collected to examine the determinants of social acceptance of a digital Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) mobile application. The study integrates constructs from the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) with risk communication and disaster perception variables. The dataset includes measures of technological perceptions: performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions—as well as risk-related factors such as risk perception, perceived effectiveness of risk communication, institutional trust, and prior hazard experience. The primary outcome variable is pre-adoption behavioral intention, operationalized as a binary variable indicating the likelihood of using a DRR mobile application. Data were collected a structured questionnaire administered through a cross-sectional survey design. All items were measured using validated Likert-scale instruments adapted to the disaster risk context. Demographic variables (e.g., age, gender, education level, and income) are also included to support subgroup analysis. The dataset is suitable for statistical modeling, including logistic regression, classification analysis, and comparative studies on technology adoption in disaster risk management. It enables replication of the study’s findings, including the estimation of odds ratios and model performance metrics such as McFadden’s R² and ROC-AUC.
2(Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2, UTAUT2)的构念与风险沟通、灾害感知变量相结合。
