Data underlying the publication: "An ecological approach to honeybee olfactory conditioning: challenges and potential for the monitoring of Potato virus Y infection"

This project aimed to study honeybees as potential biosensors for the detection of the Potato virus Y (PVY). We used Pavlovian conditioning methods (i.e. associative learning) to train honeybees (Apis mellifera) in the detection of PVY virus in laboratory settings using potato leaflets from healthy or infected samples as odor cues. We recorded the PER (proboscis extension reflex) responses of the honeybees to the odor cues.
