The suitability of Paenibacillus polymyxa DSM292 for application as a host for secretory production of heterologous proteins is examined. P. polymyxa DSM292 showed interesting properties in comparison with other strains of the species, such as reduced exoprotease activity on milk agar plates. To gain insight into genomic features of this organism, the genome of P. polymyxa DSM292 was sequenced.
