1658. Size 113/4 in. by 53/4 in.; foll. 285. Twenty-three lines in a page.
The first portion of a concise Commentary on the Koran, called مدارک التنزیل و حقائق التأویل, by Ḥâfiẓ al-dîn Abu’l-barakât ‘Abdallah b. Aḥmad b. Maḥmûd NASAFÎ (d. A. H. 710).
The introductory remarks of the author on the purpose of his work are almost verbally reproduced by Ḥ. Kh. v. 470. Cf. Cat. Mus. Brit. p. 64. The work has been printed at Bombay, A. H. 1279.
Begins: الحمدلله المنزّه بذاته عن اشارة الاوهام، المقدّس بصفاته عن ادراک العقول و الافهام.
This MS. is plainly written, and ends abruptly at Sû. 7, 101. It was transcribed from a copy which had been made in the author’s lifetime. Foll. 34-41 and 42-48 should transposed.
The following note is found on the title-page: هذه النسخة مدارک تفسیر القران من اوله الی الجزو السابع منه یسرها الله سبحانه لعبده محمد ذاکر فوقفها و جعل متولیها ابنه محمد سعد الدین طال عمره کان ذلک بمرشد آباد بنکاله فی سنة ۱۱۲۲ هجری.
