资源简介:
Duplex stainless steels (DSS) are widely used in oil, nuclear and petrochemical industries due to their excellent mechanical and corrosion resistance properties. They are used in a wide range of service temperatures (cryogenic to high temperatures). DSS are highly alloyed materials with comparable austenite (fcc) and ferrite (bcc) phase fractions. The deformation behaviour in each of the phases varies with temperature. With decreasing temperature, ferrite exhibits ductile to brittle transition while austenite exhibits an increased amount of deformation twinning. As a consequence, the two phases respond differently to external mechanical loads. In this proposal, we aim to study the effect of temperature and strain mode on the strain partitioning among the phases. These experiments combined with modelling efforts will lead to a better understanding of deformation in two-phase materials.
