Metabolomic and transcriptomic analysis of changes in the exponential and stationary phase of Clostridioides difficile after cultivation in casamino acids medium (reference) and supplemented with L-lactate and the connection to toxin production. Clostridioides difficile 630∆erm (DSM28645) was grown in a casamino acids medium (reference) and supplemented with 0.5 g/L L-lactate (Lac). Samples were taken at exponential growth (1/2 ODmax) and at the beginning of the stationary phase (ODmax).
