The goal of this study was to generate the draft genome sequences for Ophiostoma ips, an ascomycete fungus residing in the Ophiostomatales. The genome sequence of this fungus, together with other genomes available from species in the Ophostomatales, will be useful in future studies aimed at better understanding the biology and evolution of this ingesting and important group of fungi.
