Horizon Discovery 701 UMI-barcoded Targeted Sequencing

Accurate identification of low frequency variants in cfDNA/ctDNA samples remains a challenge. This is mainly due to the sequencing error rate being higher than the allele frequency of some variants. One way to overcome this challenge is to reduce the sequencing error rate by using Unique Molecular Identifier (UMI) barcodes. Barcoding allows for identification of PCR duplicates that originate from the same original molecules, allowing for clustering sequencing reads and correction of sequencing errors.
