Data from an Archaeological Watching Brief at All Saints' Church, Mackworth, Derbyshire, March-June 2021

This collection comprises data from an archaeological watching brief at All Saints' Church, Mackworth, Derbyshire. This work was undertaken by Wessex Archaeology between March and June 2021 during preliminary clearance and consolidation works following fire damage to the church in December 2020. The full plan of the church was gridded and archaeologists sifted through the debris to recover artefacts from the fire-damaged debris that covered the floor of the church. Although much of the church fabric was of 14th- and 15th-century date, almost all of the internal fittings and monuments were of 19th- and early 20th-century date. Some objects were found with only superficial damage and could possibly be restored and reused.
