Survey dataset of the stakeholders involved in the Medical device Innovation System in South Africa

This dataset comprises survey data collected from three key stakeholder groups within the medical device innovation system (IS) in South Africa: 1) academia/research organizations, 2) enterprises, and 3) government bodies. Three surveys were designed for the three stakeholder groups and they were designed using innovation indicators derived from the Technology Innovation System (TIS) Functions framework to identify challenges and opportunities within the medical device IS. To ensure validity and relevance ahead of distributing the survey, the survey questions were refined through piloting them and conducting semi-structured interviews with experts in the field, including seven academics, four representatives from enterprises, and two government officials. Stakeholders from the medical device IS were then invited to complete the survey online, with responses collected and stored anonymously. The response rates were as follows: Government: 36.1%; Enterprise: 27.8%; Academia: 32.8%. This dataset offers valuable insights for stakeholders in the medical device IS who are interested in identifying existing gaps and exploring opportunities to strengthen the innovation system.本数据集收录了南非医疗设备创新体系（Innovation System，IS）内三类核心利益相关方的调研数据，分别为：1）学术机构/研究组织，2）企业，3）政府部门。研究团队针对这三类利益相关方分别设计了三套调研问卷，问卷基于技术创新体系（Technology Innovation System，TIS）功能框架衍生的创新指标编制，旨在识别医疗设备创新体系内的现存挑战与发展机遇。为在正式发放调研前确保问卷的效度与相关性，研究团队通过预调研及与领域专家开展半结构化访谈的方式对问卷题目进行了优化，受访专家包含7名学术人员、4名企业代表及2名政府官员。随后，研究团队邀请医疗设备创新体系内的利益相关方在线完成调研，所有调研数据均以匿名方式收集与存储。本次调研的回收率如下：政府部门36.1%，企业27.8%，学术机构32.8%。本数据集可为医疗设备创新体系内希望识别现存差距、探索强化创新体系路径的利益相关方提供极具价值的参考见解。
