Global Land Degradation Status Distribution Dataset was developed based on the Global Net Primary Productivity (GLASS-NPP) product and the Moisture-responded NPP (MNPP, climate response rate of NPP) product from 2000 to 2018, using the Sen-Mann-Kendall trend analysis model. This method performed trend detection and analysis on NPP variations since 2000 at a significance level of α=0.05, and conducted correlation analysis between MNPP and Moisture Index (MI) over the same period at α=0.05. On this basis, the scope of global land degradation expansion and aggravation, as well as land improvement and restoration since 2000, was identified, and the Global Land Degradation Status Distribution Dataset with 500m spatial resolution was constructed. This dataset covers all terrestrial regions globally except Antarctica, with a spatial resolution of 500 meters. It is stored in .tif format, consisting of 16 groups (totaling 112 individual data files), with a total size of 127 MB (compressed into a single file of 99.0 MB). Each group of data files covers a geographic extent spanning 45° in east-west longitude and 65° in north-south latitude. In this dataset, -1 denotes areas experiencing land degradation expansion and aggravation, 1 denotes areas undergoing land improvement and restoration, and 0 denotes unchanged areas. Research outcomes based on this dataset were included in the 2019 report titled *Global Remote Sensing Monitoring Report on Global Eco-Environment: Global Land Degradation Status*.
