The gilded bronzes from Cartoceto di Pergola, are a Roman equestrian statuary group composed of two knights, two horses and two standing women; they represent the only sculptural group in gilded bronze of archaeological origin remaining from the Roman era. Two sets of metal samples of different materials, of Roman periods and contexts were selected: N.3 fragments of gilded bronze from the sculptural group of Cartoceto, sporadic with traces of gilding and mineralization on the surface. The reference sample is a statuary group from the Roman period (I AC - I DC).N.2 fragments of copper-tin based metal with black surface patina. They are 2 fragments of 2 mirrors found in a Roman burial area (III-IV century) in the Bagno a Ripoli area, excavations of the AC Fiorentina training center site
