资源简介:
Volcanoes are vents in the surface of the Earth through which magma and associated gases erupt, and the resulting structures that are produced by the erupted material. Volcanic hazard comprises proximal hazards such as ballistics, lava, lahars and debris flows, in addition to the more distal effects of volcanic ash fall. The classification of hazard is based on the likelihood of the hazard exceeding predefined thresholds. The thresholds are based on hazard frequency and intensity and set using expert judgement. A higher hazard classification in ThinkHazard! indicates that there is greater potential for damage or disruption to activities or a project in that region, according to the underlying hazard data.
