资源简介:
The availability of the Plasmodium genome sequence has opened new opportunities to dissect at the molecular level key genes for parasite survival in both the mammalian host and mosquito vector. Here, we describe the characterization of the genome-wide transcriptional responses of two P. berghei lines: a wild-type (WT) and a non-gametocyte producing (NGP), in order to identify Plasmodium induced gametocyte-specific genes and differences in A. coluzzi transcriptome responses. Colonized An. coluzzii mosquitoes were fed on anesthetized mice infected with P. berghei, and the abundance of transcripts in the mosquito midgut was monitored at several time points post infection.
