Gene database of Alteromonas macleodii ATCC 27126

Alteromonas macleodii is a Gram-negative bacilli
bacterium that thrives under oxygenated environment at mesophilic temperatures.
A marine bacterium without motility, the species has since attracted much
attention for its role in the marine ecosystem, particularly with regards to
metabolic exchanges with other microorganisms in the aquatic environment. Much
remains to be known about this marine bacterium, and this work sought to
provide fundamental information of A. macleodii ATCC 27126 genetic
repertoire by parsing the annotated genome sequence of the bacterium downloaded
from Genbank. Comprising gene name, gene function, and gene sequence of all
genes in the genome of A. macleodii, the resource should be useful for
understanding fundamental processes available in the bacterium, and help us
contemplate the likely role of the bacterium in the marine environment.
