Biological effects of recombinant S100A8, recombinant S100A9, and recombinant S100A8/S100A9 on human renal tubular epithelial cells (HK-2)

In order to explore how S100A8 and S100A9 may participate in the kidney stone formation, we used recombinant S100A8, recombinant S100A9, or recombinant S100A8/S100A9 heterodimer to culture the HK-2 cells and then sequenced total cellular mRNAS. Overall design: We cultured the HK-2 cells with 5mg/mL recombinant S100A8, recombinant S100A9, or recombinant S100A8/S100A9 protein for 48h and then sequenced the total cellular mRNAS. mRNAS from HK-2 cells cultured with DMEM medium containing corresponding amount of PBS was set as the control group.
