Year 1 Formative Evaluation (Classroom and Summer Camp Journals; Museum Visitor Observations and Interviews)

Year 1 formative will focus on testing methods and questions to gather data from students, summer camp participants and museum visitors. Journal data from three to six 3rd grade classrooms and grades 6th-8th summer camp participants will aim to measure how and to what extent children understand the concepts presented in the program. Journals includes open-ended questions, drawing opportunities, and pre and post program scale statements. Observations of museum visitors will draw from the Adult Child Interaction Inventory along with face-to-face interviews with adults visiting LCM’s water-related exhibits.
