Dietary fiber's gut bacteria modulation capacity in vitro depending on their physicochemical properties

In vitro fiber fermentation of fibers possessing different levels of solubility, fermentation rate and structural complexity was performed using healthy and ulcerative colitis donor's fecal samples. The goal was to assess the role of fiber physicochemical properties and bacterial dysbiosis in fiber metabolism in the gut.
