This is a project to evaluate the effect of the introduction of 10-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV10) on the S. pneumoniae serotype 19A population, observing the phenotypic and molecular characteristics of pneumococcal strains of serotype 19A of the major clonal complexes isolated from invasive diseases and carriage in the pre-vaccine (2005-2009) and post-vaccine (2011-2015) periods in Brazil.
