Faced with the challenges surrounding L. monocytogenes in the food industry and the growing prevalence of bacterial antibiotic resistance, new biotechnological approaches must be developed and improved to control microbial growth. In this context, bacteriophages emerge as a useful and effective alternative for bacterial biocontrol, given their self-regulatory activity, low toxicity for eukaryotic cells, and ability to lyse the target host. The present work aimed to bioprospect new phages and apply them to surfaces aiming at the biocontrol of Listeria monocytogenes.
