Photograph of a view of the Bear Valley Reservoir in San Bernardino County, 1892. The reservoir is visible in the distance at left. It is surrounded by mountains covered densely by pine trees. There is a three-story house on a hillside in the foreground at right. The house is made of wood and has a wrap-around porch and a small second story balcony. A pine branch is visible behind the photograph. The reservoir was built in the mid-1880s by Bear Valley Irrigation Co. to provide water for Redlands and Highlands. It remained in evidence for several decades beside the present dam, which was built in 1911.
