Sea Level Scenario Points - Coastal Inundation - 2024 (NZTM)
收藏资源简介:
This data has been published for use in the Waikato Regional Council - Coastal Inundation Tool, which is a part of the Waikato Regional Hazards Portal. Point locations that represent available sea level scenario information for the Waikato coastline relative to NZVD2016 vertical datum. Attributes include indicative sea levels for each location for; MHWS, max tide, lower and upper storm tide range, for the current climate and with 0.5 and 1 m sea level rise. Designed for use in Waikato Regional Council's Coastal Inundation Tool. Statement: This dataset comprises point locations (vector point data) that represent where sea level scenario information is available for the Waikato coastline. Attributes include indicative sea levels for each location for; MHWS, max tide, lower and upper storm tide range, for the current climate and with 0.5 and 1 m sea level rise. The 0.5 and 1m sea level rise values are not stored in the database but rather calculated in the html of the pop-up for the data in the underlying webmap. The data values provided are relative to NZVD2016 vertical datum and presented in tabular form in the pop-up. The data was created for use in Waikato Regional Councils Coastal Inundation Tool, in conjunction with the COASTAL_INUNDATION_2024 tiled imagery layers and Tiffs. The sea level scenarios in this dataset are based on NIWA’s national tide model and the information in the 2024 NIWA report, “Analysis of Whitianga, Tararu, Kawhia, Raglan and Manu Bay sea-level records to July 2024”. The report is currently being finalised before being made public on the WRC website, please contact Waikato Regional Council Regional Resilience Team for access to the report. The sea level scenario points are derived from the (internal) table: https://discover.wairc.govt.nz/otcs/llisapi.dll?func=ll&objaction=overview&objid=32362106. More information on how the scenarios were generated and the limitations of the scenarios can be found in Section 3 of the Coastal Inundation Tool User Guide. Intended Use Scale: Data should not be used at scales greater than 1:20,000 Data Use Limits: Point locations are only indicative of the centre point of a polygon representing the various sea level scenario locations around the coast of the Waikato Region. Users should find the closest sea level scenario point to their coastal location of interest and use the scenario data from that point. This data does not identify coastal hazard areas suitable for assessing risk to specific property. Further investigation is required to quantify a coastal hazard area or define minimum ground/floor levels. This information is not to be used for decisions that concern personal or public safety or the conduct of business that involves substantial monetary or operational consequences. The values are provided rounded to the nearest 0.1m. However, coastal inundation level layers are only provided in 0.2m increments. The data may change and be updated over time to reflect evolving factors and considerations. Data Specific Disclaimers: Under the Natural Hazard Information Hierarchy of the Waikato Regional Hazards Portal this information is classified as level 3, which states: “Information that is suitable to be used for the Regional Policy Statement or regional scale studies/projects or as an initial indicator of where further investigation may be required. This information is NOT suitable for use at property scale, or for: district planning risk assessments resource or building consents decisions that concern personal or public safety the conduct of commercial business insurance purposes This information is indicative only and is not designed for inclusion in Land Information Memorandum reports (LIMs). Waikato Regional Council recommends further investigation and using other applicable natural hazard data, if available, for property specific purposes. This information is generally based on previous event or historic mapping/aerial imagery or LiDAR. Users should make sure they are using the most appropriate natural hazards data available. Data held by other organisations may be better suited for property scale use or may be more up to date. Before using any of the Waikato Regional Council natural hazard data at property scale or for subdivision development purposes please contact the Waikato Regional Council Regional Resilience team for guidance. Note that further information on resource consenting is available here.” The presence of a hazard in this data does not guarantee the existence of such a hazard, nor does the lack of information preclude the existence of a hazard or risk. Waikato Regional Council, while providing the information in good faith, is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or loss in value of any person, property, service or otherwise resulting from hazards or knowledge of hazards in the Waikato Region. Waikato Regional Council has exercised all reasonable skill and care in controlling the contents of this information.
