Penn State University Cover Crop Cocktails: Stand Count and Biomass Data

The dataset is a cleaned/summarized version of data collected from 2012-2023 at the Cover Crop Cocktail site (Penn State's Russell E. Larson Agricultural Research Center) for the cover crop treatments representing the establishment, growth, and productivity of the species in each treatment. Data include study year, sampling plot, treatment, species sampled, and sample value.Values reported in this dataset are plants per m^2 (Stand Count) and grams of plant biomass per m^2 (Fall Biomass and Spring Biomass). These values were achieved by multiplying raw averaged values by correction factors to address over/under-counting caused by use of 50cm X 50cm quadrats and to scale values up to be comparable at the m^2 level.
