Cathartic Response After Exposure to Mental Stress

A total of 29 young men jogged on a treadmill at voluntary pace in two laboratory conditions; 1) mental stress and 2) neutral geographical video. The increased arousal after mental stress was transferred over into the jogging period, so that subjects covered greater distance, jogged faster (watts and heart rate) while they did not feel greater effort after the mental stress in contrast to the control video condition.
