资源简介:
This dataset compiles statistics on crimes committed against minors (0-17 years) in 19 Latin American countries, covering the period 2020-2024. Data collected from PAHO, UNICEF, ILO, REDIM, SNSP (Mexico) and national statistics institutes. Includes: Country and geographic subregion; Crime type: homicide, sexual violence, child labor, injuries and abuse; Victim age range: 0-5, 6-11, 12-14, 15-17 years; Year (2020-2024); Value and unit (total cases, rate per 100,000 inhabitants, estimates); Victim sex; Official source; Methodological notes. Key findings: Latin America accounts for ~50% of global adolescent homicides (10-19 years), with rates 3x higher than other regions. Between 2015-2022, 53,318 child homicides were recorded (PAHO/UNICEF). Venezuela, Honduras, Colombia, El Salvador and Brazil have highest adolescent male homicide rates. Mexico recorded historical sexual violence records against minors in 2025. Child labor affects 10.5+ million children in the region, with Guatemala and Bolivia among most affected. Note: Some values are estimates based on trends reported by international organizations due to limited availability of disaggregated data.
