Transcriptome sequencing of male and female Scatophagus argus. Scatophagus argus

Spotted scat (Scatophagus argus) is a potentially and economically important farming fish species. The genetic breeding program and more genome background knowledge of this species are absolutely necessary for sustainable development of fishery industry. For the first time, the Illumina paired-end sequencing of spotted scat transcriptom was conducted to generate a comprehensive transcript dataset. The high-throughput transcriptomic resource would greatly enrich the genetic database and provide effective support for the advanced research on genetics and genomics.
