Investigating the impact of a novel powder-based inoculation method on the microbiota of corn roots

The aim of this work was to investigate the effect of a novel powder-based inoculation method (INOQ GmbH) on the microbiota of plant roots. Amplicon sequencing was performed on 16S rRNA gene and ITS of gDNA extracted from corn roots of the Zea mays variety Movanna oeko. Corn plants were treated with pellets containing Bacillus sp. AB20 (Chr. Hansen A/S), alone or in combination with Rhizoglomus irregulare, as part of a larger field trial evaluating the efficacy of the inoculation method on plant growth response.
