VPRS 12668 Numerical Index to Inward Correspondence (Ports and Harbours Branch)

The Public Works Department (VA 669) had wide-ranging responsibilities for all public works and buildings, including construction, maintenance and fitting out of these buildings. Other major responsibilities included roads and bridges, ports and harbours, local government and water supply.This series was used to allocate correspondence registration numbers to inward correspondence located in VPRS 967 and further registered by subject in VPRS 12667 Register of Inwards Correspondence. The printed numbers correspond with the annual single number of the piece of correspondence, whist the written numbers give the folio (or page) upon which the piece of correspondence was registered in VPRS 12667.VPRS 12668/P1 was previously registered as VPRS 966 units 32-34.
