NASA’s Europa Clipper spacecraft is equipped with a suite of ten science instruments, or payloads, to investigate Jupiter’s icy moon Europa. These ten science instruments collectively enable the spacecraft to meet the mission’s science objectives: (1) determine the thickness of Europa’s icy shell and how the ocean interacts with the surface, (2) investigate Europa’s composition, and (3) characterize the geology of Europa. All ten instruments were delivered from different institutions across the country to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) for system-level integration from March 2022 to June 2023.
