Cultured fecal microbiome

We cultured the human fecal microbiome in in vitro batch culture using different culture media (BHI, FAB, RCM, SAM, and TSB), and their respective microbial community was analyzed using next-generation sequencing (16s rRNA seq). Microbiome analysis showed that, fecal community of BHI grown (72 hr) was closest to the original stool. Further, cultured fecal microbiome is used in FMT (cFMT) and compared against the normal FMT. In addition, cFMT is also used to study its efficiency in alleviating the dextran sulfate sodium induced gut inflammation in the murine model.
